Profile Series: Chad Germann

Profile, Aboriginal Futures, Joseph Quesnel

Native American entrepreneur Chad Germann, 45, believes that the path to Indigenous entrepreneurial success is in careful thought and self-development.

“You need to figure out a way to be valuable to others,” said Ger- mann, an enrolled member of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Tribe of Minnesota. Germann is the founder and CEO of Red Circle, a full-service advertising agency, and has over 17 years of experience in the hospitality and gaming industries.

Red Circle provides marketing ser- vices almost exclusively for Native American-owned casinos.

“If you aren’t willing to become an expert and create value, you will end up in an hourly job,” he said matter-of-factly.

Germann has certainly led a life of hard work and ambition. Growing up in the small Minnesota town of Sandstone, which is located about an hour from the Minneapolis – St. Paul Twin Cities metro. He became an enrolled member of the Mille Lacs band through his maternal side.
