On Canada Day, New Brunswick took the next step in its plan for lower taxes. New Brunswick’s bold move to redesign its system and encourage growth through prosperity has already paid its first dividends – for the people of Maine, no less.
We know that stimulus can generally come in two forms, direct government spending or tax reform. We also know that spending, especially well-thought-out and appropriate spending on infrastructure, takes time to plan and even more time to implement.
The dream of comparable services for all Canadians has turned into the nightmare of entrenched disparity and dependence. Canada is not made fairer by a system that rewards bad and irresponsible behaviour.
