If!

With the release of a predictable report by the Clean Environment Commission, one that criticizes elements of Manitoba Hydro's Bipole III plans and actions while setting out 'reachable' conditions for Hydro moving ahead on the $4 or $5 or ? billion project, the 'green...

David Suzuki and the rise of New Xenophobia

David Suzuki made a statement that Canada’s immigration policy is disgusting and that the country is already full. He implies that the environment will be harmed by more people in Canada and that immigration inevitably translates into an irreplaceable loss of skill to the countries of origin. People reject newcomers for a variety of reasons, but Suzuki’s fears are not the old-fashioned xenophobia with which we are all familiar.

“Capitol” Punishment: A Betrayal

The attack on the Capitol in Washington and its aftermath have taken a toll, but unfortunately, the incident will remain remote and extraordinary for most. It has been politicized, sensationalized and reconstructed, but its tragic impact on those on the front lines is...

US Government’s Climate Con-Job

If the congressional, administration and activist conspirators behind this massive deceit were in the private sector – peddling bogus drugs, rather than bogus science – they’d quickly become convicts. Instead of jail time, though, they’ll probably get bonus checks.

By placing a “price” on carbon emissions, a carbon market would drive up prices for a wide variety of products and would strain household budgets while having a negative impact on economic growth. Since the costs of the policy would be great, and the emission reductions achieved would be too slight to have any detectable impact on the global warming phenomenon, this costs of this policy exceed the benefits.

Climate Change “Morality”

The climate “crisis” is a “moral issue that requires serious debate,” Al Gore proclaimed in an April 27 AlGore.com blog post. His conversion to the Anglo-American tradition of robust debate came a mere three days after the ex-VP refused to participate in a congressional hearing with Lord Christopher Monckton, former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Republicans had invited Monckton to counter Gore’s testimony before the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

On Guns And Climate, The Elites Are Out Of Touch

The liberal elite is less interested in giving up its luxuries (Al Gore purchases carbon offsets to compensate for his huge mansion and private jet travel) than in changing the lifestyles of the masses who selfishly insist on living in suburbs and keeping guns for recreation or protection. Ordinary Americans are seen not as responsible fellow citizens building stable communities but as greedy masses who must be disciplined to live according to the elite’s religious dogmas.

Playing God With The Weather

The biggest problem in the world is cooling so to induce more cooling on the basis of a debunked hypothesis will create bigger problems than if warming occurs. Emphasis on only negative aspects of warming have masked the fact cooling is a much greater problem for flora, fauna and humans.
