Today the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms launched the 2011 Campus Freedom Index!
According to the report:
“The Campus Freedom Index seeks to measure the commitment of Canada’s public universities, as well as student unions, to upholding the rights of students to express their beliefs, opinions and philosophy on campus in a peaceful manner.”
On October 28th, the Frontier Centre for Public Policy hosted an event with Justice Centre President John Carpay where he gave the audience a sneak preview of the Campus Freedom Index.
I invite you to check out the Index and see how the 18 Canadian universities included ranked across several indicators.
There are many factors to consider when choosing a university. Now, with this Index, Canadians can inform the decision-making process by taking into consideration the extent to which freedom of speech is upheld on Canadian campuses.
