This video is well put together and perfectly well reasoned. It makes similar arguments to those that the Frontier Centre has made about the regulation of taxis, and supply management.

However the really extraordinary thing is that this debate is even happening in the supposedly “free market” United States. When people look to blame various real and imaged ailments of the United States on free markets, they should consider that its economy is not actually that free.

p.s. look for the bit where decorators protected by the cartel appear to claim that unlicensed decorators might harm peoples’ health because colours can affect salivation rates…
