Leaders on the Frontier – Rejecting Climate Alarmism – Why the World Needs More Carbon Dioxide

September 16, 2022 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm CDT

Our Topic: Rejecting Climate Alarmism – Why the World Needs More Carbon Dioxide

Along side frantic calls by some for more diversity, inclusion and equity (DIE) in public policy are frantic demands to end the widely discussed “climate crisis”.

The federal government’s response to this perceived environmental threat has been centred, among many policies, on an aggressive campaign to ultimately end the Canadian oil and gas industry, and just recently, cutting fertilizer use by farmers which will dramatically reduce food production.   All of these policies are part of a quixotic quest to drastically cut carbon dioxide emissions under the rubric of something called NetZero50 – which aims to eliminate co2 emissions by 2050.

Canadians are realizing that these anti-energy policies will devastate every economic sector including agriculture, mining, forestry and manufacturing along – making the lives of working Canadians unaffordable.

At the end of the day we must ask ourselves will these policies make any difference and who do they really serve? Is carbon dioxide pollution or is it essential for all life?  How do we get Canada’s political class to focus on real environmental issues, instead of constantly obsessing over how to reduce carbon dioxide emissions – the gas of life.

Our Guest – Frontier Senior Fellow, Dr. Patrick Moore

The original environmentalist – Dr. Patrick Moore will give a compelling and scientific update on the state of the environment and why, more than ever, policy makers need to stop embracing the dangerous false narrative of human caused climate change.

Patrick served as Chair of the CO2 Coalition in 2019 and 2020. The CO2 Coalition is a group of eminient thinkers and experts that was established in 2015 for the purpose of educating thought leaders, policy makers, and the public about the important contribution made by carbon dioxide to our lives and the economy.

He has been a leader in the international environmental field for over 40 years. He is a co-founder of Greenpeace and served for nine years as President of Greenpeace Canada and seven years as a Director of Greenpeace International. As the leader of many campaigns Dr. Moore was a driving force shaping policy and direction for 15 years while Greenpeace became the world’s largest environmental activist organization. In 2013 he published Confessions of a Greenpeace Dropout – The Making of a Sensible Environmentalist, which documents his I5 years with Greenpeace and outlines his vision for a sustainable future. His most recent best-selling book Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom exposes “the misinformation and outright lies used to scare us and our children about the future of the Earth.”
