Unaffordable Housing is a Long Term Fiscal Liability

Why overpriced housing will become a liability as the workforce shrinks.

Earlier in the week the Telegraph Journal ran this Frontier op-ed on housing affordability.

It argues that a shrinking workforce will intensify inter-jurisdictional competition for workers. The ability to offer affordable housing will be an important competitive advantage, and jurisdictions such as B.C. with very unaffordable housing may find themselves without workers to pay taxes, fund pensions, or even buy their overpriced houses.
