A new report says the Employment Insurance system is broken and needs a more transparent, effective and equitable national framework.

I will add one more item to the reform agenda.  With the desire and need to keep older workers participating in the work force, the system has to treat part time and seasonal work with more fairness.  In my ideal world, older workers would have an option to opt out of EI and paying the premiums if they do not want income insurance.
