Well this code of practice is a good start to address neighboring concerns about hydraulic fracturing. The prior sampling of water quality is a particularly good step.

However, implementing a no-fault insurance policy to cover water contamination in areas near oil and gas development would the method that would deflate opposition to the practice.  Sometime within the next 10 years, this industry is going to arrive in my nieghbourhood, and I would like to see better mechanisms to ensure its expansion here does not cost me money.
