In a not surprising move, the federal government announced late Friday that it was approving the CNOOC and Petronas take overs.
I will write later about my opinion on the policy framework that has now been established. However, I really do not like it when governments use this Friday media trick to hide their decisions. This techniques reminds me of a toddler hiding behind his or her mother’s skirt, i.e. very immature.
Perhaps it is time of swing the budget ax on the number of “communications specialists” this administration has hired. They do not appear to be able to fulfill the basic task of communicating policy effectively.
