Day 8 – Advent is the season of preparing for Christmas. Here at the Frontier Centre for Public Policy we want to tell you about some of the things we would like to see under our tree.

 

On Day 8 we wish to end the vast exposure to more debt and higher energy prices caused by politicians plunging into wasteful hydro projects such as BC Hydro’s Site C Dam and Manitoba Hydro’s Keeyask Dam and Bipole III transmission line. True power market reform would include splitting transmission and generation assets of provincial hydro monopolies, then privatizing generation assets while instituting smarter regulatory powers of Public Utility Boards that maximize competition and consumer choice.
