The government has signaled that it is passing back to work legislation once again for Air Canada.
I do not understand how jetting people off to sun spots in the March break constitutes essential services.
If the union and management of Air Canada want to drive the company bankrupt once again, that should be their choice. Someday, all of them should find a real job with a value creating enterprise.
If the government really wants to stop these strikes, they should intervene to halt the payment of management bonuses or the payment of union dues for 12 months after a labour disruption. A bit of added motivation on each side of the negotiating table may help them to avoid running to the nanny state to solve their problems.
