Marshalling the Evidence on Privatization

The New Zealand Business Roundtable points to the evidence on privatization.

Roger Kerr of the New Zealand Business Roundtable cites the evidence in favour of privatising Crown Corporations. It is not government debt reduction, although this justification is often the one that succeeds in times of fiscal difficulty, but rather the fact that privatisation overwhelmingly increases the productivity of the workers and capital in an organisation.

For anyone wondering about the hard evidence on this question, the study Kerr cites is a definitive “study of studies” that answers it.
