Reinventing Suburbs

Where is that seven acre warehouse going to move to?

The Globe has an article today titled Can we reinvent the suburbs.

For the most part, I lean toward supporting the concept of mix-use developments in “grey-field” locations as long as they are well designed and integrated into employment and transportation planning processes.

I do wonder about one comment in the article.  It is asserted that replacing a seven acre development with a mixed use development is a good thing.

In one site developers are considering for intensification, a warehouse with 60 employees covers seven acres, a gross waste of urban real estate.

The question that is not asked is where is that seven acre warehouse going to move to?
