The knee jerk answer to this question by many is no, they should not get payments for this insurance program.
But think about it. Should millionaires be entitled to payouts on life insurance, home insurance or auto insurance if they payed the premiums?
Perhaps the problem this author needs to ask is why people should be coerced into buying Employment Insurance. With more people combining self employed income and part time employment income, should it not be a personal choice to participate in employment insurance programs instead of an automatic deduction on the pay check?
